Day 1: Casablanca → Rabat
Start your journey in Casablanca by visiting the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. After exploring its beautiful architecture, travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Visit the Oudaya Kasbah, a peaceful historical fortress, and the impressive Hassan Tower. Spend the night in a charming riad in Rabat.
Day 2: Casablanca → Rabat
After breakfast, travel north to Chefchaouen, also known as the “Blue City.” Nestled in the Rif Mountains, this city is famous for its blue-painted streets and buildings. Stroll through its peaceful alleys, visit the historical Kasbah, and enjoy the local atmosphere. Overnight stay in a cozy hotel in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes
Leave Chefchaouen and head to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with stunning ruins. Continue to Meknes, known for its grand gates like Bab Mansour and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Finally, drive to Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital, where you’ll stay in a traditional riad.
Day 4: Fes City Tour
Spend the day exploring Fes, starting with the beautiful gates of the Royal Palace. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and visit the ancient Medina, home to Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest university in the world. Discover the famous tanneries and enjoy the city’s rich culture. Overnight stay in Fes.
Day 5: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Merzouga
Journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, nicknamed “Little Switzerland,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you might see monkeys. Continue through Midelt and the Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga, near the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Overnight in a hotel near the desert.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert Adventure
Start your desert adventure with a 4×4 tour to explore the surroundings. Visit nomadic families, the oasis of Hassi Labied, and enjoy traditional Gnawa music in Khamlia village. In the evening, ride camels into the desert to watch the sunset and spend the night in a comfortable Berber camp under the stars.
Day 7: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
Wake up early to witness the magical desert sunrise. After breakfast, travel to Todra Gorge, known for its tall cliffs and narrow canyons. Enjoy a walk and then head to the scenic Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock formations. Spend the night in a hotel in the valley.
Day 8: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate
Drive along the “Road of 1,000 Kasbahs” to Ouarzazate. Stop at Rose Valley, known for its rose products, and visit Skoura, home to beautiful palm groves and kasbahs. Overnight in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 9: Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a famous filming location. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and arrive in Marrakech, where you’ll stay overnight in a riad.
Day 10: Marrakech City Tour
Explore Marrakech with a guided tour. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna square. Stroll through the colorful souks and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
Day 11: Marrakech → Essaouira
Take a day trip to Essaouira, a coastal city known for its relaxed vibe. Visit Argan oil cooperatives, explore the historic port, and enjoy fresh seafood. Spend time relaxing on the beach before an overnight stay in Essaouira.
Day 12: Essaouira → Oualidia → El Jadida → Casablanca
Travel along the Atlantic Coast, stopping in Oualidia, a charming fishing town famous for its seafood. Continue to El Jadida, a historic city with Portuguese influences. Arrive in Casablanca in the evening, concluding your 12-day adventure.
